Regency Romance | Harding Waterfront Estate

I have always love classic literature, so much so that I studied english at university as well as fine art and art history. When Alex reached out to us with a regency inspired design at the amazing Harding waterfront estate in Mississauga, we knew this shoot would be special. We featured a number of local and seasonal flowers, including peonies, garden roses, scabiosa and sweet peas for a soft and fluffy floral design.

The estate features a large lawn and is tucked into the natural landscape making Harding Waterfront Estate is a stunning venue in Mississauga. Fine art design is focused on telling a story. Through visuals, and design elements we are able to create an atmosphere that transports the viewer into the story itself. The tablescape was set up outdoors under the draping trees and the soft diffused light adds a delicate, romantic feeling. The colour palette of lavender and white was juxtaposed by the fiery red hair of the model. I love how the image of the model running highlights a contrast between time periods, of the formal regency era and modern today. The table scape included individual petit cakes as well as hand calligraphy details from Cody Calligraphy. We have worked with Cody on a number of other shoots, if you are interested in seeing more of her work have a look here at our dried floral shoot.

Alex from Baillie David and Co had a wonderful idea of incorporating a vintage wicker basket to highlight the storybook idea of collecting flowers from the garden. A lounge set was also featured as a nod to the historical drawing-room common in the Regency era for ladies to draw, read or have conversation.
