Colour inspiration - muted rainbow

When we first spoke with Alex, she described her colour palette inspiration as a rainbow. Now, a rainbow colour palette can either look beautiful or it can simply put, just look like a rainbow. One of the things I have found when working with clients is that one person’s idea of “blue” can be very different from how we see blue. Are we talking about a dusty blue? Navy? cobalt? indigo? The options are endless. In complex colour palette situations we start by working with a visual exploration. Either the client will send us examples of what they are thinking, or we present a colour story with variations of colour tones. This beginning exploration is how we work through the initial stages of our Event Design. Once we are on the same page in terms of the colour palette, then we can moved forward with floral options and design details. After our in-depth conversation with Alex, we landed on the description of the colour palette as: muted rainbow. If you are looking to have a colourful palette for your event, I suggest opting for more muted colours with slight pops so the colours don’t become overwhelming.

The ceremony took place at the Rose Garden at the Pillar and Post in Niagara on the Lake. We used our moongate arch as a focal point and it was completely covered with flowers. After the ceremony we moved the arch pieces to the reception to be placed by the head tables. How stunning is the brides dress with thouse gorgeous sleeves? I love how the bridesmaids wore champagne dresses as the colour provide the perfect backdrop for the rainbow bouquets. Some of the seasonal flowers we used for this design include roses, peonies, garden roses, zinnias, tweedia.

We had such a wonderful time working with Paula from the Memory Vine!
